Interpreting - 25 Years of Evolution

SASLI is delighted to confirm that the programme for the Interpreting – 25 Years of Evolution conference in October 2007 is almost ready.
A rich variety of speakers – SASLI members and non-members, both Deaf and hearing – will be covering a wide range of topics. In line with our conference theme, many papers will look at how BSL/English interpreting has evolved in the last 25 years.
The main conference papers will focus on the development of the interpreting profession, engaging with the Deaf Community and future routes to the interpreting profession.
A series of workshops will also be held each day, covering ethics and well-being, improving access to public services, team interpreting, historical and future perspectives, development of Deaf interpreters, and maintaining quality standards in BSL/English interpreting.
